So...what did I do to celebrate my 23rd birthday last friday?

My first thought on seeing this was:

CTHULHU FHTAGN!

Then, I saw the end and had to revise the thought from simple "Cthulhu" to the much more distubing "Cthulhu hentai", which would cause some very serious sanity problems.

Who wouldn't? Seriously, I would LOVE if you made a write-up. I was only just able to eke out a bottle shape for my spin-the-bottle themed birthday last year, and would love to hear the technique. I looked at the cake, and I really can't figure it out.

I can't stop laughing. The combination of the cutesy octopus pan and the tradition of the prissy, fancy doll cake gone so wonderfully awry is just perfect. I know you've already been Boing Boinged (that was where I found the link) but I also put up a post on my food blog in tribute to your fine creation.

I had a kitchen hentai moment too this summer, funnily enough. I accidentally blew up an eggplant back in July and could have sworn my oven had birthed a tentacle monster...

It was actually delicious. Pouring 12 ounces of Ghiradelli chocolate made into ganache over the whole thing was what really did it.
